Press Release – CRW to Host Second Wings For All Event on January 18

Jan 17, 2025

West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW) is proud to announce its second Wings for All® event on Saturday, January 18, 2025. This nationally recognized program, created by The Arc of the United States, is designed to provide individuals with disabilities and their families with a unique opportunity to practice the airport and flight experience in a structured, supportive environment.

Due to overwhelming interest, registration for the event is now closed. The high demand underscores the need for programs like Wings for All®, which help alleviate the stress and uncertainty that individuals with disabilities may face when traveling by air.

“We are delighted to welcome families to CRW for our second Wings for All® event,” said Dominique Ranieri, Airport Director and CEO of West Virginia International Yeager Airport. “At CRW, our mission is to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all travelers. The Wings for All® program offers families a chance to familiarize themselves with the airport process in a supportive setting, helping to build the confidence needed to navigate air travel with ease.”

As part of the event, participants will check in at the ticket counter, proceed through TSA security screening, board an aircraft, and experience a simulated flight briefing—all essential steps in the air travel process. SkyWest Airlines is providing the aircraft and crew for this event, ensuring participants have the most realistic experience possible.

“Our SkyWest team is excited to be part of this Wings for All® event,” said Kari Tate, SkyWest’s managing director of People. “There is no better way to share our love for aviation than by giving these special passengers a chance to be onboard one of our aircraft.”

This event is made possible through the collaboration of The Arc of West Virginia, SkyWest Airlines, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Community Autism Resources Education Systems (CARES), Charleston Area Medical Center, and West Virginia International Yeager Airport.
