Terminal
Development Project
The Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority is undertaking a transformative modernization project at West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW) to elevate the passenger experience and position the airport for future growth. The CRW Next Terminal Development Program includes demolishing two outdated concourses, constructing a new state-of-the-art concourse, renovating key areas of the original terminal, and completing critical upgrades to adjacent apron pavement and Taxiways A and B to improve operational efficiency.
Originally built in the 1940s and expanded over time, the existing terminal no longer meets modern standards for safety, efficiency, or passenger comfort, including an undersized security screening area. By reusing and upgrading the existing terminal structure rather than building entirely new facilities, CRW is taking a more sustainable approach that reduces material waste, maximizes prior public investment, and delivers long-term value. These improvements will streamline operations, enhance passenger flow, and ensure the airport remains a vital gateway for the region for decades to come.
