More Nonstop Options Coming to CRW: Breeze Returns Tampa Route and Plans for More

Jul 9, 2025

West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW) is excited to share major air service news: Breeze Airways will resume nonstop flights to Tampa, Florida beginning October 3, 2025—with even more destinations on the horizon.

The return of twice-weekly Tampa service is just the latest milestone in a growing partnership between CRW, the State of West Virginia, and Breeze Airways, which launched service at CRW in 2023. Flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays, making it easy for travelers to enjoy weekend getaways or flexible work trips to the Sunshine State. Tickets are already available at flybreeze.com.

But the Tampa announcement is just part of a larger story.

At a press event held at the airport, Governor Patrick Morrisey announced a new agreement between the state and Breeze that could bring up to five new nonstop routes to CRW over the next two years. Among the top priorities for future service are Las Vegas and a Texas destination—either Dallas or Houston. Additional routes will be selected based on passenger demand and regional travel trends. “This expanded partnership is a big win for our passengers and our economy,” said Dominique Ranieri, Airport Director and CEO of West Virginia International Yeager Airport. “The return of Tampa service, along with the opportunity to add more destinations in the coming years, shows that West Virginia is gaining traction as a place where people want to fly to—and from.”

Since launching at CRW, Breeze Airways has flown more than 78,000 passengers and helped lower average fares by 12.5%, giving more West Virginians access to affordable, convenient travel. The airline’s presence has also generated an estimated $27.5 million in economic impact, supporting 128 jobs and boosting regional growth.

As CRW continues to expand its role as the state’s largest and busiest airport, the return of popular routes like Tampa and the promise of new destinations signal exciting momentum.

We’re proud to be connecting West Virginia to more places—and welcoming more travelers to our state.

Stay tuned—there’s more to come.
